Tips from our OT = Scissor Skills

In our recent Kindergarten Readiness workshop, our Occupational Therapist’s shared lots of ideas of what you can do now and over the summer to increase your child’s skills to be more prepared for what Kindergarten has for them. One of our OT’s shared this outline that you can copy on paper to help your child master cutting with scissors.
Using scissors properly is a complex skill and is very important in school utilizing hand strength, bilateral coordination, hand-eye coordination, sequencing, and focus. It takes practice and repetition to master this skill and will help children during learning and play.
