Shaun’s Success Story
Shaun enjoyed his occupational therapy with Amy and looked forward to the hour every week. One of the coping activities that Amy suggested was for Shaun to form a ball with his body, tuck his legs in close and wrap arms around legs with head down. Shaun has been using this technique when we are out at a restaurant during those time when it is hard for him to sit still. Another helpful method was for the classroom and using headphones to block out noise so that he could concentrate on individual work. Providing the teacher with a note from Amy really helped bring some new approaches to Shaun’s learning experience. These techniques will be helpful as Shaun continues on to the first grade next year. I highly recommend Kids in Motion as it builds kids self awareness!
