Maria P
Our daughter Maria was born with Down’s syndrome and had difficulty with feeding. The first OT we saw said that Maria wouldn’t be able to breastfeed. Our pediatrician referred us to Kids in Motion for a second opinion. Magda, the OT and Kids in Motion assured us that Maria would indeed be able to breastfeed. With therapy, Maria made great improvements, but then had a major setback. She was hospitalized for three weeks and required a ventilator. Once again we were told that she probably wouldn’t be able to breastfeed. Upon discharge, we resumed our therapy sessions at Kids in Motion and Maria made fast progress. Maria is now four months old and IS breastfeeding full time without any supplementation. Thanks to Magda at Kids in Motion, she is thriving and well on her way to reaching her developmental milestones.
