Kids in Motion

Maria obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in adolescent behavior. Her work in mental health led to an interest in neurologically- based sensory processing disorders. She attended Baker College and obtained a master’s degree in occupational therapy with a sensory concentration. Maria is trained in the principles of Jeans Ayres Sensory Integration Theory, Therapeutic Listening, PEC system, Oral-Motor Strengthening, feeding difficulties, myofascial release, joint mobilization, emotional control and social issues. Her professional goal is to continue to gain specialization to assure quality treatment for the children she evaluates and treats. Outside of work Maria enjoys running and spending time with her friends and family.
