Deanna Cueny – PT

Deanna has been a Pediatric Physical Therapist for over 23 years, gaining initial experience at The Children’s Hospital of Michigan in many specialty areas and clinics. Certifications include Pediatric NDT, Pediatric Kinesiotaping, APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor, TES Practitioner, and McKenzie Spine treatment. She served as adjunct professor for Lab and Practicum and guest lecturer for the Physical Therapist program at Wayne State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She has also been a course instructor and speaker for the MPTA and various community groups including Arthritis Foundation, Michigan Association of Foster Parents, Macomb Intermediate School District, and Detroit Public Schools Early Intervention. Her specialties include serial casting, torticollis treatment, Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Brain Gym, Kinesiotaping, Neuromuscular Stimulation, burn care and rehabilitation.
She joined Kids in Motion as Senior Physical Therapist in 2013 and is very excited to both serve and learn from the children and families in this beautiful natural and community-focused area in our clinic and through our contracted school systems.
Deanna enjoys treating children with Cerebral Palsy, “Toe walkers”, orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, torticollis, infant massage and development, myelomeningocele, burns and muscular dystrophy. She also works with other professionals in recommending orthotic and seating/positioning/mobility equipment and assistive devices. She is a strong advocate for patients and families. When not working, she likes reading, camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing and playing with her nieces, nephews and pets!”
